I have started setting up my Aziloop DF-72 antenna system. It was important for me to be well prepared. There are good sources online for carrying out a project like this on your own, even without much knowledge of antenna construction. The most important elements are my 12 Meter Spiderbeam HD Fiberglass pole with clamp set and guy belt and the boom elements, also from Spiderbeam. These are high-quality products that don’t cost much more than ‘cheap’ components.
The upper end of the Spiderbeam mast is ready to hold both loops for my AziLoop. Pipe clamps with rubber and M8 screws. The mast tip with a cover from a furniture store.
Since 2006, I have been putting together a short tour of the HAM RADIO exhibition in Friedrichshafen. This year is no exception; the pictures can be viewed on my website: https://ratzer.at/galerien/ham-radio-2025 – Enjoy the tour, 73 de OE2CRM
On 22 June 2025, some signals from Peru could be heard again. Even though thunderstorms are now causing a lot of interference, it is always worth trying at sunrise. I was unable to identify some of the stations, especially 1440.012, which played beautiful music from Peru but unfortunately had much too low modulation. Perhaps it is Radio Solar from Espinar, but the offset must have changed recently, as the station was previously heard here on 1440.023.

Radio Sicuani, based in the capital of the Sicuani district in the Cusco region of southern Peru at an altitude of 3,550 metres, has often been heard here in Salzburg on 1360 kHz in amazing quality over the past few weeks. Received with Perseus/Jaguar on an 80-metre wire antenna.
To my surprise, on 16 June 2025, some very nice signals could be heard from South America. However, they were only audible on frequencies above 1350 kHz and were disrupted by heavy thunderstorms in Central Europe. But it shows that you should keep searching even on ‘weak’ days.

A few days after placing the order in Germany, my Spiderbeam 12 meter fiberglass pole HD and the four 4 meter fiberglass tube for the arms arrived here in Salzburg for setting up the AziLoop antenna. I can highly recommend this brand; everything looks very well thought out and robust, at a very good price – and with excellent support before purchase!
