The station KJR from Seattle has just confirmed reception of its signal on 950 kHz, heard here in Salzburg in October. The west coast is rare in the medium wave band in Central Europe, so I am particularly pleased with the reception with my new Beverage antenna and the response from Washington state.
Worked on the station again yesterday. The 50 Euro original PA0RDT MiniWhip antenna is mounted on a 2 meter iron rod and grounded at the base. To the right is the starting point of my beverage antenna and the underground cabling to the station. The MiniWhip works excellently, the relatively low rod was deliberately chosen because of the strong storms at my station. However, the signals are perfect due to the free environment.
Rádio Moçambique Emissor Provincial de Cabo Delgado from Pemba confirmed my report about the reception on medium wave 1224 kHz from the beginning of October. This is my second medium-wave confirmation from Mozambique.
Beautiful signals from Asia were heard today in the medium wave band, even Japan was a guest here once again.

Now all 2.2 meter metal poles are in place, the insulators are mounted and the provisional 100 meter Beverage is now mounted on 1.9 metre metal poles and a larger distance instead of 1.4 metres on plastic poles. The SWR between the two variants differs only slightly. The metal poles bring absolutely no deterioration, on the contrary, the SNR is slightly better, but only tested during the day with 1476, the local “Museumsradio” transmitter. At the weekend, the 200-meter beverage will be installed – after that, the issue should be over, at least for the next few years.
Here are my MW logs from the last few days. The transatlantic signals are moving towards North America, the active sun is also having a negative effect. Nevertheless, my provisional 100-metre Beverage, set up for the first time in late summer, delivers nice signals at sunrise.

TWR confirmed to me the reception of the broadcast over the mediumwave transmitter in Fllake, Albania from 2016. The station was always very good to hear, but I had never written a report. This now finally made up for with a nice audio file, which Kalman Dobos was very happy about – and now Albania as a mediumwave country is also “in the box” here.
Radio Free Africa from Mwanza in Tanzania can be heard weakly around 21 UT on the otherwise free medium wave frequency 1377 kHz with African pop music and short announcements in Salzburg.
Radio Algérie Internationale, Ouled Fayet on 891 kHz and RTT Chaîne Internationale, Tunis on 963 kHz can be heard in the evenings. A well-made German-language programme comes from Tunis from 19-20 UT.
This new K9AYY++ solution has the advantage that the antenna can be operated locally via the controller AND can also be controlled remotely via the internet in almost all functions. So you can tune the antenna perfectly and use it afterwards over the net without any problems.
The circumference of the loop is still 25 metres, important is a very deep construction of the lower limb to increase the directivity (actually the attenuation of the unwanted direction), the developer Jan makes extensive details and sketches in the mentioned link.
Due to the cows in the pasture, I cannot position the antenna optimally, but I am nevertheless very satisfied with the first results. Now the coaxial and control cables have to be laid underground, and then autumn can come with its Asian signals on medium wave.
