The picture shows the monitoring bus with my 200 Meter USA/Africa Beverage.
Today I was at my station with two officials from the Salzburg telecommunications office to find my interference in the medium wave and 160 meter amateur radio bands. They examined in detail what I was receiving and how and then the measuring bus, equipped with the very best Rohde&Schwarz equipment, drove around the area for a long time.
After some time, I got the call – they actually found the interference far away in a westerly direction, a defective (but high-quality) surveillance camera that had been in use for 10 years and – presumably the power supply – was now causing this interference under load. I was at my station when the fault suddenly disappeared. Score. The owner will hopefully replace everything as soon as possible.
It was great how competently and quickly I was helped by the Austrian Radio Monitoring. Many thanks for that!
Since some days, my 200 metre USA/Africa Beverage has been installed. This time with a new, simple 75 Ohm Sat coax cable, as I have 195 metres to the antenna, double 50 Ohm coax is not sensible. Everything works wonderfully, the new boxes (Coax Match 75/50 Ohm, limiter and the antenna box) of course from https://RemoteQTH.com Really good quality and a reasonable price.
Asia is getting better day by day in the mediumwave band. In addition to the Arabic region and Iran, stations from the Far East are already reaching Salzburg. Yesterday an unexpected opening to Japan around 1715 UT, with JONR ABC Asahi Hoso, Osaka on 1008, JOQR NCB Bunka Hoso, Tokyo on 1134 and JOLF NBS Nippon Hoso, Tokyo on 1242.

Here are my mediumwave logs of the past few days. The reception window to South and North America was well open this weekend, the days before rather below average. Particular pleasure on Mexico, XEEST Ondas de Vida on 1440 kHz and XEFCR Focus Radio, Reynosa on 1670 kHz should be highlighted. Asia can be heard every evening from about 1730 UT with some stations, but the signals are very variable. The Orient can be heard very steadily later in the evening, Far East is rather below average, although 1566 FEBC from Korea can be heard reliably. While the VoA station in Thailand on 1575 kHz could be heard at 1745 UT with S7-9 at the beginning of the week, it has only been very weakly receivable the last few days.

Listening as usual with the WinRadio SDR G33/CSO, as antenna the CR2DX mediumwave whip or my RemoteQTH K9AY with 20 mt. loop.
Half an hour before sunset, the first quiet signals from Asia can be heard again on the medium wave band in Salzburg. Today All India Radio Rajkot on 1071 kHz, with its news at 17.30 UT. WinRadio G33/CSO, RemoteQTH K9AY, 20 mt.
Here’s a look at my North American areas confirmed in the mediumwave band. (August 2022) What’s next? Delaware and Arkansas have been out of reach for 10 years, maybe Nevada? Or one of the three Canadian territories, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut?
Joe Miller confirmed to me today the reception of the January DX test from KJJR from Whitefish, Montana on 880 kHz. A special thanks to the NRC, IRCA, Paul Walker, Les Reyburn, Joe Miller and all the helpers on the American Courtesy Program Committee for the DX test.
The last days are still mostly stations from South America are heard, Peru is the last days the preferred direction of the received stations. Like the last weeks the signals are overall very weak. Due to the summer QRN listening is so often not the great joy. The most beautiful reception of the last days was Radio Candarave from Tacna near the border with Bolivia and Chile.

Here are my MW logs for the last few days. The transatlantic signals are very weak and can currently only be heard from South America. Some signals on 1440, 1480 and 1490 kHz are too weak to be identified, but maybe I will be able to identify them in the next few days. Radio Nacional FM, Lima on 1320 kHz is a first reception I was quite happy about.

My report on the visibility of the DX Test signal from KJJR, Whitefish, Montana, on 880 kHz was mentioned by Les Reyburn in the DX Test report published today, July 6, 2022. I am happy about that! Almost 65 DXers were able to detect the signal, in Europe only a few Scandinavians. Thanks to a screenshot of Bjarne Mjelde from Kongsfjord, who was able to receive the test well, I compared both spectra and merged them into one picture.
