The mediumwave transmitter of Radio Feliz from Lima, Peru has been heard in Salzburg on 1110 kHz over the last few days. Today the station confirmed reception and sent me greetings. “Le mandamos saludos de parte del Pastor y Gerente de la Radio.”

There were some nice signals from Bolivia this morning, May 31, 2024. Radio Caranavi, from the city of the same name, has been heard repeatedly in recent weeks on the now free medium wave frequency 1550 kHz until the end of transmission shortly after 03:00 UT. The fact that Radio Luz del Mundo from La Paz, the capital of Bolivia, located on the Altiplano plateau of the Andes at more than 3,500 metres above sea level, could also be heard on 1560 kHz at around 01:00 UT makes the hobby even more enjoyable!

I have been able to listen to Radio Espinar from Yauri, the capital of the province of Espinar in south-central Peru in the Cusco region, on 1480 kHz in Salzburg over the last few days. The station confirmed reception to me today with a friendly e-mail.

BBC Radio Guernsey, from the Saint Peter Port station, can be heard every evening on medium wave 1116 kHz. May 3, 2024 I was able to listen to the island station in Salzburg at around 21 UT.

Here is a very special QSL card. JOAD NHK 2 from Okinawa Islands in the East China Sea between Taiwan and Japan’s mainland confirmed the reception of its medium wave station here in Salzburg on 1125 kHz from the beginning of March 2024 with this beautiful QSL card and many stickers so popular in Japan. A rare and beautiful end to the MW season 2023/2024.

It’s still difficult for me to assess the performance of the 335° Beverage in the direction of LA; the signals today were mostly weak. 1550 kHz with at least three stations would still be exciting. One of them is probably Radio Carnavi from Bolivia on 1550.006, which closed shortly after 03 UT, but was too weak overall.
