Last night, January 1, 2026, the new year brought some very nice signals from southern Africa on the mediumwave band. I was able to hear the following on my Africa Beverage antenna in Salzburg:

828 2338 AFS Magic 828, Klipheuwel, 9089 km
1179 2202 MOZ Emissor Provincial de Zambezia, Quelimane, 7683 km
1260 2203 MOZ Emissor Provincial do Niassa, Lichinga, 7155 km
1548 2345 AFS Radio Islam International, Lenasia, 8391 km

I was particularly pleased to receive Emissor Provincial do Niassa, which only became possible after Radio Dechovka was switched off on 1260.
